Brian grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Being a very energetic child, his parents enrolled him in many after school
activities, mainly sports, to give him the opportunity to be active and explore his talents. It wasn’t until middle school,
when his mother had the idea to enroll him in improv classes on Saturday mornings, that Brian got into theater.
The improv classes led him to the opportunity to audition for a community theater production of Cheaper by the Dozen. When
the audition came they sat all the children on stage and said, “Ok here’s the deal. Your sister is doing unheard of things
like wearing silk stockings and wanting to go out with boys, and your father thinks it is inappropriate and wants her to stop.
Now I just want you guys to discuss who is right.” Immediately everyone starts fighting for the daughter. Since the logical
thought is there can’t be an argument with out a counter point, Brian quickly stepped in for the father’s side. He was the
only one to do so and was cast shortly after.
After Cheaper by the Dozen, Brian realized theater was the first thing he was naturally good at, and had no intention of stopping.
He continued acting in plays and directing, becoming one of the leaders of his high school drama club. Freshman year of high school
he found out you can actually study theater at college, and knew right then he would be going to college for acting. With the
incredible support of his parents, and an excitement at having found his passion in life he attended The University of the Arts
in Philadelphia, PA.
In college Brian expanded his passion for Shakespeare by attending the British American Drama Academy, where he studied Shakespeare
in Oxford, England. Studying abroad afforded him the opportunity to have classes with people like Julian Glover, Brian Cox, and David
Schwimmer. He also became an avid practitioner of stage combat, and with the expansive combat program at UArts, he has been nationally
recognized as proficient in all eight SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors) fighting styles and teaches combat on Saturday
mornings at the McGuffin school for theatre and film.
Brian has been very fortunate in his acting career to have been in a number of well received productions. In his collegiate career
\he was in P.V.T. Wars as Gately, You Can’t Take it With You as Ed, and Jacob in the show Envoy. Since graduation, Brian has been
in The Woolgatherer, in the Philly Fringe Festival, Mauckingbird Theatre Company’s debut show The Misanthrope, and Swineheart:
a Brothers’ Tale. He has also understudied at the Arden and Philadelphia Theatre Company and hopes to build a strong relationship
with Aspire Arts.
