Kaki Burns. Kaki was born and raised in Philadelphia, where she trained as a dancer with Wissahickon Dance Academy and Koresh Dance Company as she attended Germantown Friends School - until her arrival at The Theatre School at DePaul University. She traveled to Ukraine to study with the Donetsk Ballet Company for two summers. She also attended Ann Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project for two summers. She made her professional debut in the Walnut St. Theatre's Wizard of Oz. Her Theatre School credits include Sarah Roca in Robert O'Hara's world premiere of Antebellum, the Kid in Saint Joan of the Stockyards, Danielle in Language of Angels, Mae in In Common Hours, and Karin in The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant. Kaki graduated as a scholarship recipient from the Theatre School at DePaul University with a B.F.A. in Acting in June of 2006. Since graduating from the Theatre School, Kaki played the role of Anna in the NYC Premiere of John Heimbuch's Ten Speed Revolution, and was an Acting intern at the 13th St. Repertory in NYC. She also has performed in various independent film works both in Philadelphia and NYC. Kaki is very excited about working with Aspire Arts on their Radio Play version of the Christmas Carol and looks forward to the fun challenge of playing multiple characters. |
