Aspire Outreach
Aspire has recently launched two outreach education pilot programs - one partnering with F.S. Edmonds school in Mt. Airy and
one partnering with a Boys and Girls Club located in North Philadelphia. The first was led by outreach volunteer Christine Tong and the other by volunteer Liz Thomas. Both focused on visual art. Look for more outreach programs from Aspire in the
future, including programs in many other disciplines.

Aspire's Outreach Mission:
Aspire' s Education Outreach program believes in the
win-win nature of offering a program that gives early-career art educators the
opportunity to get hands-on teaching opportunities and gives young art students the
opportunity to learn from a talented professional.
These teaching artists will work to support Philadelphia schools that have been hardest hit by budget cutbacks and whose
student populations could not otherwise afford extra instruction in the arts.
We believe that through the long-term implementation of this program we can create a
more self-sustaining artistic culture in the city of Philadelphia.
We believe that professional artists with training and a serious commitment to a career in the
arts have a responsibility to give back to their artistic community. We believe
that by providing opportunities for middle and high school students to become
involved in the arts, we not only foster a love of the arts, but ensure the
next generation's involvement and patronage in vibrant collaborative art.
