Vayia Karavangelas

Vayia Karavangelas, age 11, is playing the role of Mink in Zero Hour for Aspire as part of the Hear Again Radio Project. Vayia made her radio debut as Tiny Tim and various other characters in the 2008 Aspire Arts radio/internet production of “A Christmas Carol”. She also played the starring role in the short film “Red Vines” in which, as the daughter of an alcoholic, she struggles with how to handle her mother’s abuse and escapes into a fantasy world where she stands up for herself. Vayia is an honor roll student entering 6th grade, has 7 years of dance training, and is currently a student of nationally renowned vocal coach Sal DuPree. In addition to her acting and musical theater training at the Walnut Street Theater, Vayia has learned and grown as a performer through hands-on experience. Vayia is thrilled to be part of the broadcast of Zero Hour for the Philly Fringe Festival and is looking forward to working with Aspire Arts once again.
